But now Jesus, our High Priest, has been given a ministry that is far superior to the old priesthood, for he is the one who mediates for us a far better covenant with God, based on better promises.
Hebrews 8:6
The New Covenant (One without rules, rituals, and sacrifices) offers
This being true, why don’t we live with the confidence?
The Christian must:
“The Christ who died on Calvary’s cross, will not have to die again for my new sins, or to offer a fresh atonement for any transgressions that I may yet commit. No; but, once for all, gathering up the whole mass of his people’s sins into one colossal burden, he took it upon his shoulders, and flung the whole of it into the sepulcher wherein Once he slept, and there it is buried, never to be raised again to bear witness against the redeemed any more forever.” – Charles Spurgeon
Living like the once and for all sacrifice Christ made on our behalf wasn’t enough is disrespectful to Christ.
We need to live each day
Better
Stronger; more excellent
what is better because more fully developed, reaching the needed dominion (mastery, dominance); “better” after exerting the power needed to “plant down God’s flag of victory.”
Live in full and free in the better covenant.
