I am writing to Philemon, our beloved co-worker, and to our sister Apphia, and to our fellow soldier Archippus, and to the church that meets in your house.
Philemon 1:1a-2
“No part of the New Testament more clearly demonstrates integrated Christian thinking and living. It offers a blend, utterly characteristic of Paul, of love, wisdom, humour, gentleness, tact, and above all Christian and human maturity.” – N.T. Wright
Appeal
A loving appeal
When making an appeal, be prepared for it to be rejected.
And to our sister Apphia, and to our fellow soldier Archippus, and to the church that meets in your house.
Philemon 1:2
It is likely Apphia was Philemon’s wife and Archippus was his son.
Appeal gently and rightly, with love.
