Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened.
Acts 3:7
Peter was under the prompting of Holy Spirit.
How did know that Holy Spirit was prompting Him?
Peter had
- denied the Lord before, and learned from it.
- experienced this prompting before, and he recognized it.
- acted on this prompting before, and trusted it.
How will I know if it is the Spirit, or my thoughts?
- The more you respond to the promptings, or what you think are promptings, the more you will recognize them.
- It’s better to air on the side of “Yes, that’s the Spirit” than to miss the divine appointment.
- Be confident that what God calls you to do, He will see you through.
- Remember that all things work out for the good for all those who love God, and are called according to His purpose.
Isn’t it risky to follow Holy Spirit promptings?
This answer is yes.
- You risk your reputation, finances, feelings, faith, and there have been some who have lost their life.
- You risk experiencing a life of abandoned faith-living and seeing God work miracles through you… you miss divine appointments that are life-changing for both you and those who you are helping.
The risk is worth it.
Who faithfully carried this man to the gate Beautiful?
As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in. Each day he was put beside the Temple gate, the one called the Beautiful Gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple.
Acts 3:2
The Gate Beautiful
I’m so very thankful for my friends who carry me to the gate.
