Scripture:

JOHN 12:37-50, MARK 11:12-14, MATTHEW 21:18-22, MARK 11:15-19, MATTHEW 21:12-17, LUKE 19:45-48, MARK 11:20-33, MATTHEW 21:23-27, LUKE 20:1-8

The Mountain Of Me

Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen.“

Matthew 21:21

My Take Aways

Something Old

But despite all the miraculous signs Jesus had done, most of the people still did not believe in him.
John 12:37

Things haven’t changed much.

Something New

It isn’t about believing hard enough, trying hard enough; it’s about

  • where my faith is rooted
  • my commitment level to God’s will

And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.
Luke 9:23 (ESV)

When I remove the mountain of self, I can clearly see other mountains moving, because nothing matters more than what God wants for me, and I’m willing to follow Him anywhere and obey Him it any cost.

Jesus is following up to Matthew 17:14-21, and the disciple’s inability to cast the demon from the boy. Jesus pointed out what they were lacking:

  • Lack of faith
  • Lack of praying
  • Lack of fasting

Am I stuck behind a mountain? Have I allowed God to move the mountain of me?

Something To Do

Worship my mountain mover!
