Abraham lived for 175 years, and he died at a ripe old age, having lived a long and satisfying life. He breathed his last and joined his ancestors in death.
Genesis 25:7-8
Who doesn’t want to live a long and satisfying life, beautiful and full life?
Abraham teaches us how.
- It possible to change your family’s lineage.
Abram’s family line was full of idolatry. Because he trusted God, we all have the opportunity to live eternally. - God is trustworthy, and the unknown is a safe place with Him.
Abram left everything he knew to trust God. - Stay put until God tells you move.
Abram went to Egypt without consulting with God. - Trust God to provide what is best for you.
Abram allowed Lot to choose first, and he chose the best land. - When we trust God, He gives us a new identity.
Abram became Abraham, and Sarai became Sarah. - Intercede relentlessly for your lost family members.
Abram rescued Lot twice. - Don’t lean on your own understanding (or anyone else’s).
Abram shouldn’t have listened to Sarah about sleeping with Hagar. - God keeps His promises, even we mess things up.
Isaac was born, just as God promised. - Obey without delay is the best way.
Abraham got up and took Isaac to the mountain.
Abraham’s son became the father of 12 tribes.
These twelve sons of Ishmael became the founders of twelve tribes named after them, listed according to the places they settled and camped.
Genesis 25:16
Later, Jacob, Isaac’s son (Abraham’s grandson) became the father of 12 tribes.
Wow. That’s all I can say.
Follow Abraham’s life’s example.
