Scripture:

JOB 35:1-37:24

Let The Teacher Teach

“Look, God is all-powerful. Who is a teacher like him?”
Job 36:22

My Take Aways

Something Old

Elihu continued speaking: “Let me go on, and I will show you the truth. For I have not finished defending God! I will present profound arguments for the righteousness of my Creator.”
Job 36:1-3

Something New

  • Elihu continues to correct Job’s wrong thinking.
  • Elihu urges Job to listen.
  • Elihu wants to “ascribe righteousness” to God.
  • Job has accused God of denying him justice.
  • Elihu declares that God is righteous in all He does.
  • Even the righteous experience affliction.
  • How do people respond to affliction?
  • They can obey God and serve Him.
  • They can not obey and refuse to listen.
  • The second response proves that the person is not really righteous.
  • God wants us to cry out to Him in our afflictions.
  • God uses affliction to open our ears to His voice.
  • It is a personal lesson.
  • God is a powerful teacher.
  • Are we missing the lesson?
  • Where does my mind go during hard times?
  • Do I think that He is dealing unjustly with me?
  • Don’t question His character.

Something To Do

Look for the lesson.
