Scripture:

EZEKIEL 44:1-46:24

Living In Securely

Then the man brought me back to the east gateway in the outer wall of the Temple area, but it was closed.
Ezekiel 44:1

My Takeaways

Something Old

In reading about the future Temple, it’s gates, whether they are closed or open; it’s servants, the acceptable and not acceptable; the rules, celebrations, and offerings I am ever more aware and grateful that I am:

  • At peace with God
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
    Romans 5:1 (ESV)
  • Grafted into the family of God because of faith in Him
For if you were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be grafted back into their own olive tree.
    Romans 11:24 (ESV)
  • Circumcised by heart
But a Jew is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. His praise is not from man but from God.
    Romans 2:29 (ESV)
  • Fully alive with Christ
In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead. And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses.
    Colossians 2:11-13 (ESV)
  • Secured now and always will be
In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit
    Ephesians 1:13 (ESV)
  • Eternally free
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
    John 3:16 (ESV)

And lastly, I should pray for those who don’t have this security, especially God’s beloved Israel, will come to a saving faith before it’s too late.

  • To open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.
    Acts 26:18 (ESV)
  • Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! “May they be secure who love you!”
    Psalm 122:6 (ESV)
