Fishers of Men

Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!”
Matthew 4:19

My Takeaways

Something Old

The prophet Isaiah was speaking about John when he said, “He is a voice shouting in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord’s coming! Clear the road for him!’”
Matthew 3:3

Something New

Know how to fish.
Know what equipment to use.
The fishing equipment is found in the armor of God. Ephesians 6:10-18
Shield of faith.
Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
Know the fish you are looking for.
All nations. Matthew 28:18-20
Know the depth of the water and the habitat you are fishing in.
Know the lost condition of the people around us. 2 Corinthians 4:4
Know the effective kind of bait.
The only effective net is the gospel of Jesus Christ.
It is foolishness to the world. 1 Corinthians 1:18
There is power in no other message. Romans 1:16
Follow Him. Learn about Him. Know His mission. Know His message.
