Scripture:

JOHN 3:1-4:45, LUKE 3:19-20

Good News

God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.“There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.
John 3:17-19

My Takeaways

Something Old

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave  his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16

Something New

  • God is good, powerful, and loving.
  • Creation
  • God created us to be in a relationship with Him.
  • Fall
  • Humanity rejected God and rebelled against Him.
  • Rebellion (sin) separates us from God.
  • Rebellion condemns us to die, because the penalty for sin is death.
  • Redemption
  • Because of His great love for us, God sent His only Son to save us.
  • Jesus, who is fully God and fully man, lived a perfect life and died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins.
  • He rose again three days later and is now seated at the right hand of God.
  • Whoever believes in Jesus will be forgiven and restored to a right relationship with God.
  • Restoration
  • One day Jesus Christ will return again and restore all that sin destroyed.

Something To Do

Know that we have been brought from death to life through the power of the gospel…this is good news.
