Nehemiah 6:8

When we accept an assignment from God, we WILL face opposition, however, we MUST complete the job.

The tactics of the enemy are the same as they have always been: distort, deceive, and distract. Therefore, we have to be discerners.

A confident discerner isn’t:

• Duped by distorted truth
• Deceived by wrong motives
• Distracted by the side show

What is discernment?

• to recognize or perceive (differences)
• acuteness in judgment and understanding

So now the question is, How do we become a confident discerner?

• We have to know God’s Voice.

This is only accomplished by:

• Time spent in His Word
• Time spent in prayer
• Time spent in obedience.
• Time spent with Him.
• Time spent with Him.
• Time spent with Him.

I can’t know someone I don’t spend time with.

I realized that God had not spoken to him, but that he had uttered this prophecy against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.
Nehemiah 6:12

How did Nehemiah come to realize this truth?

Spend time with God… lots of time with Him. Obey what He tells me to know, so I will know when it is NOT Him speaking to me.
