About My Faith And Healing

“Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.“
Mark 5:34b

My Takeaways

Something Old

Does the phrase, Your faith has made you well stings a little bit?

  • Why doesn’t my make faith make me well?
  • Why didn’t my faith make them well?
  • Why didn’t my faith save my marriage, child, or job?

I don’t know the answers, but this I do know:

  • Healing comes when my faith intersects with God’s will and His timing, therefore I must do what is necessary to keep my faith strong.
  • The only thing we have control over is our faith, therefore I must do what is necessary to keep my faith strong.
  • Healing doesn’t come from the one who holds the faith, but in the One in whom the faith placed; therefore, I must make sure the object of my faith is only Jesus.
  • Healing is defined by God, not me, therefore I must develop an unshakeable trust relationship with Him.

Something New

When Jesus climbed out of the boat, a man possessed by an evil spirit came out from the tombs to meet him.
Mark 5:2

The first five verses of Mark break my heart. Was this man aware of what was happening within him? Day and night he wandered around and cut himself.

Something To Do

Be thankful He heals, not matter how the healing comes about. Trust His plan is for my good. When things do not go the way I desire, share my hurt and disappointment with Him so that bitterness doesn’t grow in my heart.
