Something Old

Soon afterward Jesus began a tour of the nearby towns and villages, preaching and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom of God.

  • The gospel of Matthew tells of the King told of throughout all of the Old Testament.
  • Matthew alludes to the Old Testament more than any other gospel.
  • Matthew tells of the Messiah…the King of the line of David.
  • The King tells the rules for the Kingdom.
  • The King tells of the mystery of the Kingdom.
  • Matthew 13 connects the Messiah with the New Testament church.
  • The Kingdom Parables explain the authority of Christ.
  • The Parables require spiritual discernment on the part of the hearer before they can be understood.
  • Matthew 13:14-15
  • The seven parables are The Parable of the Sower, The Wheat and the Tares, The Mustard Seed, Leaven, The Treasure, The Pearl, and The Dragnet.
  • Matthew assures us that Christ is who He claimed to be.
