A Cleaning Lesson

You blind Pharisee! First wash the inside of the cup and the dish, and then the outside will become clean, too.
Matthew 23:26

My Takeaways

Something Old

Sometimes we don’t see the dirt/sin and we need someone to point it out.

  • What is inside, will show outside.
  • Look to The Book, not all other books
“Many books can inform, but only one can transform.” – Unknown

2 Timothy 3:16-17

  • All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. (NLT)
  • Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action), So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work. (AMPC)
  • Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us.(MSG)

How to clean:

  • Remain humble.
  • Remain teachable.
  • Let the Book, do its Work.

Something New

Jesus calls the teachers of the law and Pharisees children of hell. Wow! This is strong language.

What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you cross land and sea to make one convert, and then you turn that person into twice the child of hell you yourselves are!
Matthew 23:15

Something To Do

Wendy, be more concerned with your inside, than your outside.
