Scripture:

JOHN 8:21-59, LUKE 10:1-11:13

“It” Is In Sit

“There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Luke 10:42

My Takeaways

Something Old

“The way to get the revival is to begin at the Master’s feet; you must go there with Mary and afterwards you may work with Martha.” – Charles Spurgeon

“The one thing needful evidently is that which Mary chose — that good part which should not be taken away from her. Very clearly this was to sit at Jesus’ feet, and hear his word.” – Charles Spurgeon

To sit at the feet of Jesus implies

  • readiness to accept and obey what Jesus teaches.
  • submission to Jesus; rebellion is done with.
  • faith in who Jesus is.
  • implies discipleship.
  • feet of Jesus implies love for Him.

Trust that everything that needs to get done, will get done and what doesn’t get done won’t matter.

“It” is in sit.

  • Peace overcomes anxiety, when we sit.
  • Chaos concedes to order, when we sit.
  • Timidity surrenders to confidence, when we sit.
  • Delight defeats despair, when we sit.

Busy girls know Jesus, too. Being distracted is not a sin, it happens to all us, and when it does, sit with Jesus.

Be a Martha 2.0: Martha on Jesus.

Something New

Who did He choose? What criteria did you use?

The Lord now chose seventy-two other disciples and sent them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places he planned to visit.
Luke 10:1

Something To Do

Remember “it” is in sit. Sit down when things become too much.
