I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.
John 5:24

“Has changed his country, or place of abode. Death is the country where every Christless soul lives. The man who knows not God lives a dying life, or a living death; but he who believes in the Son of God passes over from the empire of death, to the empire of life.” – Adam Clarke

All who believe, that’s me, have passed from death to life. Anyone who believes is living eternal life right now. It isn’t something that is looked forward to, it is something that is experienced in the right now. Death to life means that I will not have to endure judgement for my sins, Christ endured my judgement on Calvary.

Death isn’t the end for the believer, it is our escort to the fullness of life eternal with Christ.

Eternal life is more than belief in Jesus, even Satan believes in Jesus.

You can be confident of your eternal life when you:

• Consider Him, in everything you say, and go.
• All plans for your life are surrendered to His plans for your life.
• Spend time with Him praying and reading His Word
• Obey Him, even if it is difficult or really don’t want to
• Long for others to experience the life with Christ that you know
• Sin causes you great sorry and rush to repent.

So, the Jewish leaders objected. They said to the man who was cured, “You can’t work on the Sabbath! The law doesn’t allow you to carry that sleeping mat!”
John 5:10

Carrying a mat was considered working.

Live with eternity in my mind. This life is passing away, and will pass away completely. It will not swallow me up.Lord, help me live fully in my eternal life until I get there with you.
