Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:13

We pursue lots of things.

Am I pursuing what lasts, or what is temporary?

If faith, hope, and love last forever, shouldn’t we pursue all three?

We can’t demonstrate something we don’t possess; we can’t possess something we don’t pursue.

• Possess: to have as a faculty, quality, characteristic or the like
• Demonstrate: to manifest or exhibit; show; to display openly or publicly, as feelings:
• Pursue: to seek or strive to attain (some object, desire, etc); to follow the precepts of (a plan, policy, etc); to apply oneself to (one’s studies, hobbies, etc); to follow persistently or seek to become acquainted with

Do everything it takes to possess faith, hope and love.

• Learn the Word.
• Get to know the Lord through prayer and obedience to His Word.
• Spend time the Lord in conversation and worship.

Do everything it takes to demonstrate faith, hope, and love.

• Allow scripture to manifest itself in your life through obedience.
• Confidently and boldly show kindness and love for others.

Am I pursuing what lasts or what is temporary?

• Pursue the permanent.

There’s much discussion concerning this verse and what it says about women (the covering of her head.) I see it in another light: Paul says women pray and prophesy.

But a woman dishonors her head if she prays or prophesies without a covering on her head, for this is the same as shaving her head.
