Lessons From Peter

But Peter denied it. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said, and he went out into the entryway. Just then, a rooster crowed.
Mark 14:68

My Takeaways

Something Old

Sometimes we can learn great lessons from things people didn’t do.

We need to do the two things that Peter didn’t do:

  • Never think, much less say, I will never.
  • Never follow Christ from a far.

No one is above denial, even those close to Christ.

Stay:

  • Spiritually humble, avoid always and never statements.
Pray: Lord, help me stay humble.
  • Close to the Lord, in prayer, worship and the Word.
Pray: Lord, help me stay close to you.

Sometimes we can learn great lessons from things people didn’t do.

Something New

Judas confessed to the wrong person.“I have sinned,” he declared, “for I have betrayed and innocent man.”
Matthew 27:4a

Something To Do

Don’t follow Peter’s example.
