Oh, foolish Galatians! Who has cast an evil spell on you? For the meaning of Jesus Christ’s death was made as clear to you as if you had seen a picture of his death on the cross.
Galatians 3:1

For when I tried to keep the law, it condemned me. So I died to the law—I stopped trying to meet all its requirements—so that I might live for God.
Galatians 2:19

Paul’s words in paraphrase:

• I tried.
• I died.
• I stopped.

So, I might live for God.

When I get this right, it is not me people see, it’s Christ in me.

• What price am I paying to “live” in this world?
• What law I am trying to keep?
• What religious tradition I am holding on or bowing down to?
• Do I live as if His cross was in vain?
• Have I allowed my old self to be crucified?
• How do I treat the grace of God?

It isn’t possible to please God and man.Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.
Galatians 1:10

Allow my old self to be crucified until it is completely dead. Crucifixion is painful.
