- We don’t have to have a statue to have an idol.
What kind of idols to we have?
- Family (Children, husband)
- Career
- Knowledge
- Money
- Material items
- Service
- People
How to avoid gods we don’t know?
- Allow God’s Word and His Spirit to teach and shape me.
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12 (ESV ) - Study and feast on the deep truths of God’s Word.
But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.
