Avoiding a fight is a mark of honor; only fools insist on quarreling.
Proverbs 20:3
I have to wonder if one of Solomon’s wives was a complainer. Maybe there would have been less complaining with fewer wives. Just saying. He has a lot to say about wives and complaining, etc.
It’s better to live alone in the desert than with a quarrelsome, complaining wife.
Proverbs 21:19
“To stint it rather than to stir it; to be first in promoting peace and seeking reconciliation, as Abraham did in the controversy with Lot.” – John Trapp
Stint: stop or check something
Stir: to incite, instigate, or provoke
Stint or stir, it’s really up to me, but stirring just keeps the mess going on and on and on.
Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone.
Romans 12:18
Am I more determined to be right in the situation, or to be reconciled with situation?
Reconciliation doesn’t mean
Reconciliation means that individuals agree on an amicable truce.
Just come to an amicable truce, and let God sort the details out.
