• Judah’s end is coming.
• Judah fears Assyria.
• King Hezekiah relied on support from Egypt.
• God had forbidden His people to make alliances with Egypt or return there. Deuteronomy 17:16
• God wants His people to rely on Him.
• His people do not want truth.
• His people had decided they wanted to go their own way.
• They wanted pretty lies.
