Scripture:

PSALM 128, PSALM 129, PSALM 130, PSALM 132, PSALM 134, PSALM 135

On, For, And In The Lord

From the depths of despair, O LORD, I call for your help.
Psalm 130:1

My Takeaways

Something Old

You may not find forgiveness with other people. Your husband or your wife may not forgive you, if you have wronged him or her. Your children may not forgive you. Your coworkers may not forgive you. You may not even be able to forgive yourself. There is one who will, and that one is God. Write down where you can see and reflect on it often: Our God is a forgiving God.” – J.M. Boice

After showing his deep gratitude for the forgiveness of his sin, the psalmist gives us three great truths to apply to our faith life.

  • Count on the Lord.
Qâvâh (kaw-vaw’ ): to wait with eager hope
  • Long for the Lord.
Shâmar (shaw-mar’): to wait with confident anticipation
  • Hope in the Lord.
Yâchal (yaw-chal’): to wait without leaving; tarry

Something New

Yes! This is my truth.I am counting on the LORD; yes, I am counting on Him. I have put all my hope in His Word.
Psalm 130:5

Something To Do

Praise the Lord today that He can be counted on, fulfill my longings, and is worthy of my hope.
