Scripture:

2 CHRONICLES 29:3-31:21

Faithful Before the LORD

In this way, King Hezekiah handled the distribution throughout all Judah, doing what was pleasing and good in the sight of the Lord his God. In all that he did in the service of the Temple of God and in his efforts to follow God’s laws and commands, Hezekiah sought his God wholeheartedly. As a result, he was very successful.
2 Chronicles 31:20-21

My Takeaways

Something Old

In the very first month of the first year of his reign, Hezekiah reopened the doors of the Temple of the Lord and repaired them.
2 Chronicles 29:3

Something New

  • Hezekiah’s reforms in Judah are recorded for the audience of the book.
  • Hezekiah has torn down the high places.
  • Hezekiah has led the nation to reinstitute the Passover.
  • Hezekiah’s faithful leadership is a blessing for his people.
  • The Chronicles record the faithfulness of God to His covenant for the generation of the return from exile.
  • These people need to remember that God has a purpose for His people.
  • The people of God can trust Him to be faithful.
  • Will the people of God be faithful to Him?
  • That is the question in the time of Hezekiah, at the time of the return, and now.

Something To Do

Cling to Him. Remain faithful. No matter what.
