Then the Lord answered Job from the whirlwind: “Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorant words? Brace yourself like a man, because I have some questions for you, and you must answer them.”
Job 38:1-3

I said, ‘This far and no farther will you come. Here your proud waves must stop!’
Job 38:11

• God speaks.
• In this first speech, God asks Job about creation.
• Can Job explain the “how” of creation? Job 38:4-11
• Can Job govern creation? Job 38:12-38
• Can Job govern the creatures? Job 38:39-40:2
• Job had forgotten that much of the knowledge and purposes of God are hidden.
• God speaks using His personal name, signified with “LORD”.
• God reveals His power and His presence as He speaks out of the whirlwind.
• God reveals His steadfast love in this personal gesture.
• God is gracious, loving, and kind.

Stop making assumptions about God. Trust that He is who He says He is.
