Choose any place in the entire land of Egypt for them to live. Give them the best land of Egypt. Let me live in the region of Goshen. And if any of them have special skills, put them in charge of my livestock, too.
Genesis 47:6
Joseph and Jesus both:
- Close to their Father.
- Rejected by their family.
- Sold for money.
- Resisted temptation.
- Joseph allowed his pain and God’s plan to be used to save Egypt.
- Jesus allowed His pain and God’s plan to be used to save the world.
We are like the brothers:
- They received the best and did nothing to earn it, all because of Joseph.
- We received the best and did/do nothing to earn it, all because of Jesus.
God’s best, that we did nothing to deserve and can do nothing to lose because He choose us.
- Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us.
Ephesians 3:20 AMP
- And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19 ESV
- But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Matthew 6:33 ESV
- But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8 ESV
- Christ is the sacrifice that takes away our sins and the sins of all the world’s people.
1 John 2:2 CEV
Joseph prepared his chariot and traveled to Goshen to meet his father, Jacob. When Joseph arrived, he embraced his father and wept, holding him for a long time.
Genesis 46:29
“Holding on for a long time,” this touches me deeply.
Praise Him for giving me His best, when I didn’t and don’t deserve it.
