How do I know if I’m being tempted?

If it sounds too good, it probably is.

If it contradicts God’s Word, turn away.

If it causes you to ask questions, walk away, keep asking questions, and pray for peace.

A couple verses to tuck away

• Talk to the Lord about the temptation before giving in to it.For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.

• Know that you aren’t the only Christian who has been tempted and will not be the last.The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.
  1 Corinthians 10:13 NLT

God’s “expects” are always good for me.But the Lord God warned him, You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden—except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.
