Then the LORD said to Moses, “Whenever you take a census of the people of Israel, each man who is counted must pay a ransom for himself to the Lord. Then no plague will strike the people as you count them.
Exodus 30:11-12

So, so very thankful for my High Priest, Jesus, who wants to speak to me, and have a relationship with me. Wow! I can hardly take it in.

This ransom money made the person right with the Lord. It redeemed what was wrong in the person’s life and made it right.

God:

• Required this offering – commanded.
• Considered you accountable for your sin at the age of twenty.
• Valued every soul the same, the amount was small enough that both the rich and poor could make the offering. In other offerings man gave according to his wealth.

Man would

• Alerted to and alarmed by his sin.
• Aware of the atonement God offered by covering his sin.

Let’s worship our Redeemer today, the one who required nothing of us, but paid everything for us, so that we might accept His free gift of salvation and spend eternity with Him.
