Scripture:

ACTS 28:1-31, EPHESIANS 1:1-2:22

Unstoppable

“So I want you to know that this salvation from God has also been offered to the Gentiles, and they will accept it.” For the next two years, Paul lived in Rome at his own expense. He welcomed all who visited him, boldly proclaiming the Kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one tried to stop him.
Acts 28:28-31

My Takeaways

Something Old

“I asked you to come here today so we could get acquainted and so I could explain to you that I am bound with this chain because I believe that the hope of Israel—the Messiah—has already come.”
Acts 28:20

Something New

  • Acts teaches about the birth of the church.
  • Acts teaches about the growth of the church.
  • The gospel goes forth by the power of the Holy Spirit.
  • At the beginning of the book there were only a few hundred believers in Jesus Christ.
  • Tens of thousands came to Christ through Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the Gentile lands.
  • Persecution, death, and imprisonment all tried to stop the spread of the gospel.
  • Luke tells us the gospel is unstoppable: Acts 6:7; 9:31; 12:24; 16:5; 19:20
  • The book ends without ending the story.
  • The focus is the gospel.
  • God and the gospel of Jesus Christ are bigger than our failures.
  • We carry the message.
  • Romans Road: Romans 3:23; 6:23; 5:8; 10:9; 8:1

Something To Do

Share the Gospel clearly and often.
