In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love.
Jude 1:21b
How do we stay safe in God’s love and guard ourselves against all of Jude’s warnings?
- Build up your faith and help others along the way
But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith,
Jude 1:20
“If you entrust your spiritual growth to someone else, it will not only hurt your spiritual growth, but it may also lead you astray. Others can help provide an environment conducive for spiritual growth. But no one can make another person grow in his relationship with the Lord.” – EnduringWord.org
- Pray in the power of the Spirit
…pray in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Jude 1:21 (Romans 8:26-20)
“Such is our sloth, and that such is the coldness of our flesh, that no one can pray aright except he be roused by the Spirit of God… no one can pray as he ought without having the Spirit as his guide.” – John Calvin
- And wait in faith for the coming of the Lord
And await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life.
Jude 1:21a
But even Michael, one of the mightiest of the angels, did not dare accuse the devil of blasphemy, but simply said, “The Lord rebuke you!” (This took place when Michael was arguing with the devil about Moses’ body.)
Jude 1:9
Two things:
- Who knew there was an argument between Michael and the devil over Moses body.
- How did Jude know of this argument?
Do everything necessary to stay safe in Jesus.
