Scripture:

2 CORINTHIANS 11:1-13:13, ACTS 20:7-12

Living With It

Even though I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So, to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud.
2 Corinthians 12:7

My Takeaways

Something Old

What if it is given to

  • draw me closer to God.
  • prepare me for what is to come; good or bad.
  • build my faith.
  • keep me humble.
  • make me more like Christ.

If I knew my pain would bring about all these and was purposed by God, would I ask God to take it away?

Would I ask Him to bring the rain?

Something New

What has God given me, or allowed me to experience to keep me from being proud?

This was a very tough question. One that I can’t answer publicly, but the answer sure humbled me. Thank You Lord for your tough love.

If I wanted to boast, I would be no fool in doing so, because I would be telling the truth. But I won’t do it, because I don’t want anyone to give me credit beyond what they can see in my life or hear in my message, even though I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud.
2 Corinthians 12:6-7

Something To Do

Praise God from whom all blessings flow… even when the blessing is a source of pain or heartache.
