Scripture:

JEREMIAH 8:4-11:23

Pray No More. Really?

“Pray no more for these people, Jeremiah. Do not weep or pray for them, for I will not listen to them when they cry out to me in distress.“
Jeremiah 11:14

My Takeaways

Something Old

Listen to the weeping of my people; it can be heard all across the land. “Has the LORD abandoned Jerusalem?” the people ask. “Is her King no longer there?”
Jeremiah 8:19a

Oh, how it hurts my heart to think that I provoke the LORD to anger.
Forgive me dear Father, LORD, and King.

Something New

I know what I know, and I don’t know what I don’t know.

This is what I am certain of:

  • I know I trust God and His sovereign reign and rule over everything.
  1. Does God change His mind?
I don’t know for sure, but I think so.
Verses about God changing His mind?
  2. Should I stop praying for someone if God tells me to stop praying?
    Yes… and I don’t know.
    Verses about Obedience
  3. Doesn’t the Bible say pray without ceasing?
    Yes.
Got Questions on pray without ceasing
Never stop praying. 1 Thessalonians 5:17
A great example of relentless praying Luke 18:1-5
