“As for you, O people of Israel, this is what the Sovereign LORD says: Go right ahead and worship your idols, but sooner or later you will obey me and will stop bringing shame on my holy name by worshiping idols.”
Ezekiel 20:39

“Son of man, tell the leaders of Israel, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: How dare you come to ask me for a message? As surely as I live, says the Sovereign LORD, I will tell you nothing!‘”
Ezekiel 20:3

• God had chosen a man and made him into a family…so that His Name would be made great!
• God had made a family into a people…into a nation…so that His Name would be made great!
• Ezekiel 20 is a history of rebellion.
• It is a history of how the very chosen ones of God had turned their backs on “Ha Shem” and turned to idols.
• Israel rebelled when they left Egypt and did not abandon their Egyptian idols. Exodus 20:7
• Israel rebelled against God at Mt. Sinai and worshiped idols. Exodus 32:1
• The generation in the wilderness rebelled against God by “yoking herself” to idolatrous nations. Numbers 25
• In Canaan, Israel sacrificed to idols on the high places.
• Even in exile, they are thinking they should worship idols like other nations.
• The people that were supposed to make His Name great, looked everywhere else to find their identity and for greatness.
• Even while sitting in their judgment.
• Declare His glory among the nations.

May I remember to make God’s Name great among the nations…starting where He has placed me!!!
