Scripture:

EZEKIEL 17:1-19:14

Before the Judge

“Therefore, I will judge each of you, O people of Israel, according to your actions, says the Sovereign LORD. Repent, and turn from your sins. Don’t let them destroy you! Put all your rebellion behind you, and find yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O people of Israel? I don’t want you to die, says the Sovereign LORD. Turn back and live!”
Ezekiel 18:30-32

My Takeaways

Something Old

For all people are mine to judge—both parents and children alike. And this is my rule: The person who sins is the one who will die.
Ezekiel 18:4

Something New

  • God is the judge of sin.
  • Every person throughout history will stand before the judge.
  • Confess sin to God-agree with Him about sin.
  • Repent- turn from sin and to Jesus.
  • Turn back and live!
  • This is more than just at the time of salvation, this is day by day and moment by moment.
  • Preach the gospel…to myself…daily.
  • I am a sinner.
  • Christ has paid by debt.
  • Jesus has saved me from sin.
  • I am not bound by sin.
  • I am free to turn from sin.
  • I am free to turn to Jesus.
  • Every day. Every hour. Every moment.
  • We can live in the fullness of life that He has called us to.
  • We can live a victorious life.

Something To Do

May I remember the call to repent, and live a life of repentance: Daily looking in the mirror and preaching the Gospel to myself.
