Gather together—yes, gather together, you shameless nation. Gather before judgment begins, before your time to repent is blown away like chaff. Act now, before the fierce fury of the Lord falls and the terrible day of the Lord’s anger begins. Seek the Lord, all who are humble, and follow his commands. Seek to do what is right and to live humbly. Perhaps even yet the Lord will protect you— protect you from his anger on that day of destruction.
Zephaniah 2:1-3

The LORD replied, “Look around at the nations; look and be amazed! For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn’t believe even if someone told you about it.”
Habakkuk 1:5

• Zephaniah is the prophet speaking to Judah during the reign of King Josiah.
• During Josiah’s reign he made many reforms and tried to turn the nation from its sinfulness.
• Josiah was a good king.
• The land of Judah was deep in sin from the previous kings…and the consequences are still coming.
• Zephaniah’s prophecy is of the coming judgment.
• Zephaniah tells Judah they can repent.
• Zephaniah says there is hope for restoration.
• God will bring something new.
• God is willing to use anything to bring purification.
• Only God can save.
