Scripture:

JEREMIAH 37:11-38:28, EZEKIEL 1:1-3:15

Accept and Complete the Assignment

Then go to your people in exile and say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says!’ Do this whether they listen to you or not.”
Ezekiel 3:11

My Takeaways

Something Old

Sometimes our assignment is one we:

  • Don’t want
  • Didn’t request
  • Don’t feel qualified to complete
  • Doubt will be easy
  • Don’t want to accept because it seems dangerous

How do I proceed?

  • Confirm the assignment through prayer, counsel, and reading the Bible.
  • Confidently proceed with the instructions.
  • Complete the assignment, and leave the outcome to God.

When the going gets rough and the assignment is tough, hang on to this verse. It’s brought life to me.

But life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about God’s mighty kindness and love.
Acts 20:24 (TLB)

Two truths to remember:

  • We are responsible for the obedience not the outcome.
  • The results of our obedience rests on God’s shoulders not ours.

Something New

Another difficult assignment for anther ordinary man.

Then go to your people in exile and say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says!’ Do this whether they listen to you or not.”
Ezekiel 3:11

Will I continue to obey whether I saw a result or not?

Something To Do

Confirm and complete the assignment, then watch God work in the situation and in my life.
