Then Naomi heard in Moab that the Lord had blessed his people in Judah by giving them good crops again. So, Naomi and her daughters-in-law got ready to leave Moab to return to her homeland.

Today’s reading teaches:

• God redeems, maybe not returning exactly what was lost, but restores our joy with something new.
  Naomi took the baby and cuddled him to her breast. And she cared for him as if he were her own. The neighbor women said, “Now at last Naomi has a son again!” And they named him Obed. He became the father of Jesse and the grandfather of David.

• Lineage matters. Every great, great, great, great someone or another matters to the make up that makes up me.

I love that the women recognized God’s redemption of all Naomi’s pain.

Do I consider my future descendants when I make decisions? Who will be in my lineage because of my decisions?
