It is time to bring back the Ark of our God, for we neglected it during the reign of Saul.
1 Chronicles 13:3
If we aren’t careful, our service to the Lord can be like, rather than what God prefers:
“We want God’s presence very much, don’t we? But we like to hitch His presence to some of our new carts. We like to add Him to our list of organizations, to load Him on top of the mechanics of a busy life, and then drive. How much of our service is really in the energy of the flesh, I wonder! So often we put forth our hands, but not our hearts.” – Adam Redpath
Wanting to do something for the Lord isn’t wrong, but it must be done in the right way:
Which usually means little fanfare, and no recognition for me, or even a mention of my name. I’ve really got to learn to be OK with this.
Am I OK with this?
“If you read the story through, you will see that it appears to be an affair of singing, and harps, and psalteries, and timbrels, and cymbals, and trumpets, and of a new cart and cattle; that is about all there is in it. There is not even a mention of humiliation of heart, or of solemn awe in the presence of that God of whom the ark was but the outward symbol. I am afraid that this first attempt was too much after the will of the Flesh, and the energy of nature.” – Charles Spurgeon
They still count the East side of the Jordan in the warrior count.
From the east side of the Jordan River—where the tribes of Reuben and Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh lived—there were 120,000 troops armed with every kind of weapon.
1 Chronicles 12:37
Doing something for God has little to do with me. Be OK with this. When I am, it really shows great growth in my faith.
