There Is No Plan B

Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy! I look to you for protection. I will hide beneath the shadow of your wings until the danger passes by.
Psalm 57:1

My Takeaways

Something Old

The cave at Adullum was in the same region as the Valley of Elah where the David killed Goliath. No wonder David could stand at the opening of the cave over looking the valley and say:

God will:

  • fulfill His purpose for me.
  • send help from heaven to rescue me.
  • Send forth His unfailing love and faithfulness.

David recalled:

  • His purpose.
  • When God sent help from heaven to rescue Him.
  • When God sent forth His unfailing love and faithfulness.

Until: up to the time that or when; till

When is my until?

  • I come up with a plan B.
  • My friend picks up the phone.

God doesn’t have and doesn’t need a plan B. We just need to learn to enjoy (not endure), enjoy our time of waiting with Him until His plan A is accomplished.

I know that You can do all things, And that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted.
Job 42:2 (NASB)

Something New

So, David left Gath and escaped to the cave of Adullam. Soon his brothers and all his other relatives joined him there.
1 Samuel 22:1

It sounds as if David’s brothers and family changed their opinion him.
(See 1 Samuel 17:28-29)

Something To Do

Enjoy God’s plan A, Wendy, and your time with Him while He prepares you for what He has prepared for you.
